Last summer, I purchased a unique plant to grow here in Central Florida.

Because I have not had a much luck with citrus here, I opted to put my new tree in a large pot. Last year, I had three flowers, no fruit. This year though it appears that I may be the lucky owner of several Buddhas hand fruits!

Buddhas hand is a citron fruit, and unlike lemons or limes, this fruit offers a sweet rind that is perfect for baking and drinks. Its unusual shape lends itself to culinary uniqueness as this fruit looks rather alien.

This fruit is super expensive and runs about $25 a pound!

I still have blossoms but look! My babies are growing! I am super excited!
