Florida Betony loves moist turf, and grows wild and wonderful just like mint does, therefore I believe it is better suited to be planted in a pot.

Many will try to use heavy herbicides to try to get rid of betony in their lawns, as it grows so prolifically.

The entire plant is edible, the leaves and flowers can be dried for tea. The plant is known as rattlesnake weed because of the shape of its tubers. It is also referred to as wild artichoke, even though the plant is not a relative of the artichoke.

The roots taste crunchy with sweet earthy undertones, it is not a bad flavor at all especially when you are hungry, and I could see myself dipping this one in some ranch for mid afternoon nibbles,

It is said that betony can blower your bloodpressure, so i would be cautious if you already on the low end and check with a certified herbalist before ingestion of this herb,

Florida betony attracts bees and butterflies as well as bumblebees. Florida betony can be found in zones 7b till 10b.

Please note that not all versions of betony or Stachys are edible!
