And with that new babies… The little guys in my backyard are sandhill crane twins with their mom and dad.

Did you know that sandhill cranes are monogamous and they will only have one mating partner in their life?

Sandhill cranes are protected here in Florida, they are very proud birds and people stop traffic most of the times to let them cross the street.

When we were building our pool we had sand hills, and the sandhill cranes would seek out these sand mounts to jump on. They are playful as well, they play catch and toss a branch or moss around!

As curious as they are they have been seen pecking at peoples’ screen doors, mirrors, cars, and windows as they are a bit territorial in a socially awkward kind of way.

Sandhill cranes eat grubs and other creatures out of the lawn, I have seen one devour a snake and a frog too!
